Social Response Paper ( Emotional Portrait - Overwhelmed)

“Overwhelmed” is the most meaningful piece I’ve made so far and also the one with most use of elements of design. This piece describes how I feel towards my life at the moment with use of symbolism and emphasis. It symbolizes fear, anxiety, and anger from past experiences. I named it overwhelming because of life events (wanting to quit my job, trying to save money for a car, where I plan to transfer to for other 2 years of college, my love life, etc.).  I realize there is more emotion to this piece than I made it to seem. I used harmony, line, and a color scheme based off emotion color wheel.  For harmony, I split the portrait in half to see what I was thinking in the mist of this anger and fear.    Line was used by the separation of art work, on the figures’ face, within the words symbolized as eyes, and dripping of color and water.

Overall, the piece was my best representation of my emotions that are direct opposite from happiness and show some of my best use of elements of design.

Pattern Portrait

Pattern Portrait - Katy Perry Logo

This piece is my pattern portrait and I chose Katy Perry's logo because this is a musical artist that stands out to me and her music has so much meaning to me. The font her name is the same bubble font just in  different color schemes.

Emotional Portrait

Emotional Portrait - Overwhelmed

This emotional piece I created was meant to feel deep emotion of what I've been going throughout the entire semester. I have been overwhelmed with money ( getting better job), where to transfer ( ACU is where I plan to go) , heartbreak , and going through process to get a car and my license. All those things can become overwhelming and I had anxiety and fear over these things which is expressed in my art piece.

Metamorphic Series

Metamorphic Series - Clock To Music Listening Penguin

This painting was the most relaxing and non-complex i've done in this class besides my first painting in this class ( line painting). I loved that we used all the colors on the color wheel to create this piece. I used all the three colors in each color and then used black and gray paint to make the clock transition into a cute penguin listening to music on his headphones. This is a part of my final projects/ exam for this class. I can't wait to show you my last two pieces of this design/painting class.

Element Series Part Two

Element Series - Beach house view

This is part two of my element series and it is a interesting idea on how I came up with this piece . I was thinking about another daydreaming series of where or what I would want to see in a happy place of my mind. I am not depressed or any of that sort I just am juggling school and work so like to come 2 art classes and explore my mind to other aspects of my life that make me happy. So I was thinking of a beach house or at least the theme of this painting. It all started with the copper piece in the middle the flower placement gave me the idea to a sea or beach house theme to represent peace and the flow of colors in the background to bring harmony into my painting. I also used colors of blue , red, and yellow to the requirements of triadic colors on the color wheel.

Element Series Part One

Element Series -Spiritual Elephant

This painting is apart of the element series in this project. It is called spiritual elephant because I personally love elephants and they have a special meaning that I looked up on google on random night . The spiritual meaning of elephant ( my spirt animal ) is strength, honor, stability and patience.   Those are characteristics that represent me as person so I want to create a piece that symbolized me but also met the requirement to the assignment and project/series.

Texture Painting

Texture Painting - Sunshine Daydreaming
This painting is to represent texture of wave movements in off sea and this painting is to picture what i daydream about when I am not in the best mood where I would picture myself to be.  I used colors of yellow-orange , orange , and red-orange which is the requirements need for this assignment where to use analogous colors on the color wheel. I like how this piece and few other pieces came together on emotions of how I felt throughout this semester and particularly this class.
